Some shots taken in Punta Gorda, Flordia, located near the gulf of Mexico. It is basically a very small quaint town, with a “summer vacation for anyone 50+” vibe. Everyday I see the friendly faces of those who reside there, who always look like they are just trying to enjoy the last part of their lives. It is sweet and warming. I am embracing the chance to observe different people and their doings.
Time, is a funny funny concept and slowly, I am still trying to understand what time means for me. As I am now officially, a woman without a home. Seeking joy, knowledge, love, friendship, and fulfillment in the most pure way. Visiting Colorado was on the top of my list. We drove from Bayfield, Wisconsin to Fort Collins, Colorado
I will admit this has been a difficult exploration. The farther I travel away from Minnesota, the more I feel an absent sense of “home”. It has been so important to ground my energy and stay completely present. Whenever I start thinking about my other friends in college or questioning myself, I remind myself of how grateful I am and that I am doing exactly what I should be. Manifesting a dream can be as simple as traveling. So many opportunities to grow and expand have come about. In blissful Colorado, I had an unbelievable sense of happiness that came to a bittersweet goodbye. Endless nature, kind humans, fascinating culture, and love. We stayed in a Airbnb with a bohemian woman (she works with energy healing) and her home was filled with everything that could ever make my heart smile. Essential oils, crystals, paintings, VIBRANT COLORS, and a dog companion. There is nothing I love more than connecting with other women who share the same affinity in spirituality and self awareness. We had wonderful conversations about her children and her career. She was quite fascinated by me and my mother’s relationship and our gypsy ambitions. Fort Collins was a magical experience. And on the last night, we randomly found a sushi place to eat for dinner. Our server’s name was Luke and he was easy on the eyes. I had to tell him he was such a beautiful person and I asked for a picture to add to my collection of memories. He sat down with us for awhile and we spoke of our lives and our dreams. Luke wants to save the Rainforest and work in Forestry, what an angel. I was sad to have to say “It was nice to meet you, bye, I’ll be in New Mexico by tomorrow…”
Okay, so it would’ve been two days until New Mexico. However, we drove to Manitou Springs in the morning! I’d been reading about the Garden of The Gods and I was eager to go as soon as I could. It was an unreal experience, I felt as though I was walking through land of another planet. We also explored the historic Manitou Springs old town, it had a charm that I could only describe as “Stars Hollow” quality. Hippies as far as the eye could see, I felt at home. I felt content there and sad to leave.
It feels like the beginning of a new time, a new era in my life. I am grown and becoming who I’ve always been but it’s been hiding beneath the surface. I wear my hair curly and natural all the time. I find that by traveling and being a mystery, makes for the most fulfilling life. Never would I regret or question my intentions throughout this adventure, it all feels smooth with a calming fluidity. Every state we pass through, every stranger’s face, every smell, I can feel the bigger picture emerging in the embers of a powerful fire. To stand, to act, and to live boldly; sometimes it takes time to walk the way you talk. I am growing moment by moment.
I know now each step should be taken with gratitude.
Well, here I am… everything I own is packed in a car and now my mom and I are off. We’ve basically been crazily selling and getting rid of all expendable belongings. We have our basic necessities and few odd outlier items and our dog. It was the most empowering and tiring times we’ve ever had to fight through. You really learn a lot about simplistic living when need be and the time calls for it. But we chose to travel and live like this. We headed back up to Duluth (we visited a fews weeks earlier) and stayed with my mom’s oldest childhood friend. I fell in love with Duluth. There was something about the vibe of the town and the colors. It’s a warm and coast town filled with friendly smiles and good energy. I love that everyone is always outdoors and every house looks completely different. Not to mention the obvious nature that is underestimated in its beauty. I would sit by Lake Superior until the sun goes down everyday if I could. We were recommended to go and stay in BayField, Wisconsin because of the Gilmore Girls ‘Stars Hollow’ quirky small town feel. And nevertheless, it was quaint, small, adorable, and completely peaceful. We stayed two nights and then drove through Iowa and Nebraska (in one day/one night) and arrived in Fort Collins, Colorado in the early morning. Boy, it’s only been a week. I keep reminding myself of how grateful I need to be as I am traveling. I feel uplifted and inspired, but also observant and curious. It is easy to get caught up in the excitement, but the true purpose is to enrich and absorb with knowledge and awareness. Every interaction, moment, glance or stare and hello is important. I love humans and I love this planet.
As I prepare to set sail on the ultimate adventure, I am saying goodbye to my one and only love, Minnesota. I hold so much nostalgia and love for this place, that I have called my home my entire life. I will hold the people that remain here, so close to my heart.
Amy Winehouse has been somewhat of a mentor (through her music) to me, this Summer. To study her sound, her words, and the person she was.
Oracular Gold. That is why I’m here- a new beginning. However, my intentions are nowhere near what they used to be. I started this website for the sake of fashion and following a dream. I fulfilled that chapter, at least in my eyes. But I am not here to pick up where I left off. This is something different. It is for the most simplistic reason-art. I am here to share what goes on in my head and what beauty and wonder I experience and live. Because art affects me as strongly as a human relationship affects me. I feel it and live it deeply. I am, however, still navigating through it all. Weighing out the deceiving from the pure. I watch films and I walk out of the theatre with a whole new perspective. I live through every piece of art I am able to discover. But art, is also within nature and the universe. Therefore, Oracular Gold is me. A visionary who seeks a golden state of mind, if you will. And sometimes, If I’m lucky, I am able to instill clarity through my words. So if you’re reading this, know that I am here, here to share.

A New Moon is upon us this Sunday and I’m feeling it in the air. A sense of both contentment and anticipation fills my lungs when I step outside and breathe the cool air. Lately, something “big” feels like it’s about to emerge from the ashes. For example, Oracular Gold is here and I can’t even lie. It’s all very exciting. I get to put out a small piece of who I am, the art that I so admire, beautiful places I will soon be traveling. Singing is so important to me and now I will be able to share that with you as a more ongoing occasion. OH! I’m also moving out of the good ol’ Minnesota and to the road of the UNKNOWN. My mom and I are emptying our home, loosening the ties on the place we’ve both grown up, and onto a more simplistic yet adventurous lifestyle. We both have come to opportunities where we can go as we please and randomly make camp as we wander. No set plans, no schedules- just being free . It feels daunting, but this seems like the only way to discover, to learn, to grow, and to know your place on this Earth. My thoughts explore all realms of being. I have no desire to sit and look at phone and see people living beautiful adventures. I want to live those adventures as well! Life doesn’t wait for anyone. And that is why Oracular Gold has submerged (changing from Take a Lovely Look) around those same ideas. My blog will follow me as I follow this dream that I have. I hope you want to come along with me, as I ride into the unknown. It’s going to be gnarly.

Anyone who knows me, know that I am a contact lens wearer. But sometimes a really rad pair of glasses come my way and I love to pair it with a perfect look. Firmoo.com recently sent me this cute black pair of lenses and I just love them. When glasses can change up an outfit and add a little something, I am always up for that.

Having been in both California and Florida recently, I can’t help but admit that I am hooked on the tropical and sunshine life. I am coming to the end of the school year and I honestly cannot wait for the Summer! Pictured above I paired my new Living Dolls flannel with a bikini top and denim to keep cool whilst in Fort Lauderdale. This plaid flannel is a top piece in my wardrobe simply because it’s sooooo comfy and it can be worn in so many ways. Seriously guys, go get one here. I love Living Dolls, their clothes are everything and more!

I’ve been completely in a tropical lifestyle mode and being in gorgeous Florida was the most relaxing and restoring spring break I could’ve asked for. I was with my closest friend and we had many insane and unforgettable adventures. We laid in the warm sun, shopped, ate tropical fruit, laid in hammocks under the moon, and so much more. It’s crazy to think we had all those experiences in less than a week. It felt like a lifetime… and a good one at that. Living Doll, an LA based clothing company got in contact with me a few months ago. We collaborated and I went gaga over their clothing. It perfectly fit my bohemian tropical girl vibe that’s been the latest style of mine. I picked this beautiful turquoise satin maxi dress because I knew the color would compliment my brown skin. Also, because it’s my favorite color of all time and greatly resembles the ocean & sky. It only felt right to shoot the dress right on the beach where we spent the majority of the time. You should seriously head over to their site and check out the other amazing clothes they have.

When I bought this dress, I immediately knew that some setting in California would make it all the more beautiful. I love the clean lines and the simplicity of black and white. I’m a sucker for anything monochrome. While driving down the Santa Monica mountains, there were so many photo ops. These beautiful bunch of flowers were no exception. We pulled over and shot the dress, admired the view, and hoped someone cool and famous would walk out of one of these homes. Well we did get to witness a movie being filmed and sat next to Candace Cameron at dinner that night.
It’s the weekend and spring break has finally arrived. I’m super excited to get back to warmth and sunshine. I’ll be heading to Flordia in the next few days with my best friend and I’m sure my Instagram photos will be plan trees and sand.
One of my favorite tricks to surviving Minnesota cool weather blues, is pretending it doesn’t exist! Haha, I honestly just buy and wear clothing that would normally be seen during spring & summer. It’s probably not the most practical trick, however I’ve run out of ideas. This is actually the first outfit I wore out in California. Lavender is my absolute favorite color and I wouldn’t usually wear tight high waisted jean shorts to the beach, but everything was so spontaneous. So, as you can imagine right after this shoot I changed into my swimsuit and jumped into the ocean. Oh, the luxuries of just living in California. I can’t wait to be one of them 😉
As much as I love the city and being on the go, I really find the most inner peace and contentment being amongst nature. It always feels much more real and beautiful. I’m wearing this adorable floral dress from Aeropostale which blended perfectly with the scenery that the Santa Monica Mountains provided. Did I mention the insane drive down the mountain that we endured everyday? It was crazy scary but also super visually pleasing, which I never am one to complain about. Ooh, don’t let me forget about my silver metallic sandals (looks perfect with frilly socks) from Forever 21! I’m pretty much obsessed with anything silver metallic and that makes me look like I’m straight from space. These babies really edged up with girly dress, gotta love what shoes can do for you. Happy Saturday!
I apologize for how long I am taking to post all the looks from California. In my mind, I’m still there and on vacation apparently. So, here’s a quick look at my last day at the beach. I sincerely love the ocean and just laying in the sun and listening to waves crash. The beaches in Malibu were so beautiful and so many locals surfing and such made the experience so fun. Is there a job that just allows you to lay by the beach and eat mangos? If so, sign me up!

What you have just viewed is my final look from my collaboration with Tobi! The dress screams California, so it was absolutely the right setting and mode for my temporary summer heaven. The wine colored lace easily satisfied my infinite love for the always romantic/sexy shape of the dress. It’s a freakin’ miracle that Spring has begun in Minnesota, because I was definitely worried about my mental health after experiencing such blissful-ness in Cali.
Staying in the Santa Monica Mountains in a secluded cabin, surrounded by nature was exactly the kind of vacation I needed. There was nothing forced or superficial about it, just me, myself and nature. The atmosphere was so surreal. On most of our days,my mum and I completely relaxed in the mornings, made breakfast and ate on the sun filled deck. Then, we did a lot of exploring all over California. First, we explored the beaches of Malibu and walked along the seaside. We ate at a really yummy lunch at the Malibu Farm Beach cafe. I ate a chicken burger and mashed broccoli… it was so damn good. I was skeptical of the broccoli but I was in love and I’m probably gonna attempt to make it. We also stopped in a shop called Planet Blue (super friendly ladies!). It smelled so good in the there, and hella bomb boho clothing. Lavender is my favorite color, and I was in need of a quality maxi dress so this Free People dress was the right answer. Pairing it with my ‘Emma’ Vagabond boots added a good badass vibe that I always love.

If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you know that I have been vacationing in California. I’m back now, and I’m ready to share all of the looks I shot whilst being there. I shot over ten looks and now I know why California bloggers have such quality content. It’s always beautiful and sunny in Cali, and the photo-ops are outrageously convenient. I should also mention that when I first arrived, I knew immediately that I was in love and at home. I’ve never felt that before about a place, but this was instant true love. So, it’s safe to say that the debate on where to move after I graduate has been settled.
I have owned this dress for awhile now, thanks to Tobi. However, I knew the right setting to capture it’s perfect tie dye boho look would not be in Minnesota. So, I saved it for the Santa Monica Mountains and I definitely made the right choice. I love the bell sleeves, touch of lace, and flattering length of this bad boy. It is ultimate sun goddess attire, in which I always try to attain. Recently, I invested my hard earned money into two pairs of Vagabond boots. Yes, yes, yes that might seem like a bit too much all at once. But I’ve been wearing the first pair I got awhile back almost everyday. So, I stuffed all three pairs in my suitcase and simultaneously switched them out for each outfit. Okay… I need another nap because my “jet lag”/complete laziness has set it. I’d stay tuned for more…

The holidays are over and we’re stuck in the midst of some brutal Winter temps. But there’s one thing about February that one might look forward to. February 14. Being single on Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean you have to be sad or sit at home alone in the dark. I think being an independent person is something to celebrate. So why not do it by treating yourself or a friend to a special gift? I found some unique finds at UncommonGoods. They are a privately-owned retailer that endeavors to feature unique designs and handcrafted gifts created in harmony with the environment and without harm to animals or people. I love their mission in supporting artists and many of their pieces are hand made. Since my mom is an artist, I see the creativity and energy that is put into personalized art and those kinds of gifts are always the best. For those who have a love for traveling, the Scratch Map and the Map Key Ring are perfect! And of course, there are plenty of gifts for the guys too!
What do you do when you find a turquoise wall? Do a quick photo shoot, of course. Because of how freakin’ cold it is, and to that I can say how excited I am to be going to Malibu, California soon. I cannot wait to enjoy some beautiful weather and sun. Alright, I’ll tell you quick how much I love overalls. Styling them in a very suave and masculine way feels very empowering. As surprising as it may be, I’ve always been just as much of tomboy as I’ve been a “girly girl”. Aka, I find it fun to dress quite boyish and walk around in those shoes for a bit. I’ve actually been shopping in the guys section a lot (H&M men is on point) and I’ve found some great finds, such as this bomber jacket. Okay, I should head to bed. I am so tired. Salut!
I recently collaborated with Tobi, a brand that I have loved and admired since I started my blog. So, it was extremely exciting and fun to be able to work with them and create some stellar looks. This is the first look, the Cruising All Night coat and Hop The Line dress were pieces that screamed my name from the moment I saw them. I tend to choose the same black, white and greys, so this pastel blue was the perfect answer to lighten my wardrobe. This lovely shade of blue is a surprise twist to the classic moto style. The stripe dress had that fitted look with the asymmetrical detail that easily stole my heart. A sheer pair of tights and chunky boots were the finishing touches, what do you think of this look?
My obsession with bomber jackets is really growing. I can’t can’t enough of them. This floral Forever 21 one really caught my eye when I was doing a bit of online shopping one night. The weather here is still a bit chilly for light outerwear, but when Spring arrives you can bet my staple item will be my ever rotating bomber collection.
